    Overview

HealthTrack is a health monitoring dashboard designed with accessibility as the leading constraint. The project explores creating data-rich interfaces without compromising accessibility.

    My Role

Sole UX Designer: research, design, prototyping, and testing.

    Context

    Academic UX project · 2-3 weeks · 2024

    The Challenge

Health dashboards often prioritise visual data presentation through charts and colour-coded indicators. Without alternatives, this can create barriers for people with visual impairments, colour vision deficiency or cognitive differences.

    Accessibility Approach

I used WCAG 2.1 AA as a guideline throughout the design process:

    Perceivable

Content was designed with multiple modes of perception in mind

    Operable

    Designed for keyboard navigation

    Understandable

    Clear language and consistent patterns

    Robust

Structured with assistive technologies in mind

    Prototype

    Key Learnings

Considering accessibility from the start changed how I approached hierarchy, status communication and interaction in this project.
